An array of double
and
An ArrayList
Actually, the compiler deduces that you want to sort an array of doubles. So it has to do some conversions. What you want is:

double[] PICs = new double[] {10, 8, 6, 12, 4, 9, 5, 3, 7};
//Sort the array
Array.Sort(PICs);
note that double[] is the same as Array in C#, and Array.Sort works with arrays.
To convert a List to an array of double, use:

ArrayList lst = new ArrayList(PICs);
