I had the pleasure of creating the artwork for this post. I’ve made a regular post like this for Elements 4 in the past, but lately, I’ve been creating tutorials specifically for Elements 6.
The version I’m using is Photoshop CC, version (currently) 19.1.3. My working model is a Retina MacBook Pro with an Intel i5-5200U 2.1 GHz processor and 16 GB RAM. I’m using Photoshop Elements 16, version 22.0.0.
In this tutorial, you’ll learn how to use the Liquify filter to create an abstract, patterned wallpaper effect. Liquify will allow you to create interesting, complex patterns.
Step 1
In the Editor, open an existing image. I’ve chosen a picture of my daughters. I didn’t open a new document, I opened a copy of the photo.
Step 2
You’ll create a pattern in the Levels and Curves workspace.
Step 3
Blend the Levels and Curves with the Menu Window.
Step 4
Use this tutorial as a reference, then open the Live Filters workspace.
Step 5
To add a mask to your image, open the Live Filters workspace and bring the Rubber Stamp Tool to the front.
Step 6
Using the Reference Image as a guide, you can paint a mask onto your subject.
Step 7
Add a new layer above the mask and paint the image over the layer mask.
Step 8
Apply the Filter Overlay after you paint the image.
We’re not done. Now, let’s make the image dynamic.
Step 9
To start the pattern, open the Liquify workspace.
Step 10
To focus the attention to a specific area of the image, create a Rectangular Selection using the Pen Tool.
Step 11
Create a new layer and place a selection outline on the new layer.
Step 12
Bring the Selection Outlines Layer to the top of the layer stack.

Does anyone know how to use the findall function for the scipy.sparse matrix library for large data sets (billions or more rows)?
I know it’s possible but just can’t find any information on it.

Why is str.join producing an unexpected result?
I am trying to write a program that computes the number of times a prime appears in a given string. I am allowing users to enter a string as input.
The str.join method splits the string into an array, iterates through all the strings in the array and joins them together.
The output should be something like this:
This is the string: ‘Hello World’. The number of times a prime appears is: 3.
This is the input: ‘H T E L L O W O R L D’. The number of times a prime appears is: 1.
