## Recalling Images to the Clipboard

Photoshop makes it easy to cut and paste any number of images from one location to another on your hard drive, and then to reinsert them later. These commands allow you to do this easily, and to work on a number of images all at once.
To choose an image to place in memory, place the pointer at the spot where you want to insert the image. Then choose Edit⇒Copy or press Ctrl+C (⌘-C). This places a copy of the image in memory, identified in the Layers panel as the _current layer,_ as shown in Figure 5-5.

Create the image
Open Photoshop Elements
On the Menu bar, click File > Open. This will take you to the New > File dialog box.
Navigate to the location of the image you want to edit, and select it.
The image will appear in a new document in the same window, with the area around the edges cut off. It is a common practice among amateur photographers to crop the corners of a photo to make it look better, which is something most professional photographers do in Photoshop.
Crop the Image
Go to Image > Image Size and change the Width and Height to your desired dimensions. This will crop the photo to keep only the area you want.
Click Apply and close the image editor.
Brighten the Image
Open the image you want to change. Go to Effects > Adjustment Layers > Gradient Map and adjust the gradient as needed.
Apply a preset, change the gradient to suit your taste, or tweak the gradient yourself.
A useful preset is the Gradient Map Adjustment Layers.
Click OK when done.
Contrast the image
Open the image, and go to Effects > Adjustment Layers > Gamma Map and adjust as needed.
Click OK.
Adjust the color of the image
Open the image, and go to Effects > Adjustment Layers > Curves.
Use the curves tool to change the color of the image as needed.
Increase the contrast, or decrease it, to make the image more visually appealing.
Click OK when done.

Huntington Beach Speedway was an American race track located at 2904 Sunflower Ave. in Huntington Beach, California. The track hosted USAC Silver Crown events, as well as NASCAR and IndyCar racing. The track’s name came from the nearby Huntington Beach, California. It was opened in 1950, and was closed in 1993.
History
The race track was built by John Elliott, in 1949. The track opened in 1950. Later that year, the track hosted its first race, the first of three NASCAR Grand National Races to be held at the track. The track also hosted the first race in California for the USAC Championship Series, which was won by Frankie Schneider. In 1951, Wayne Wakeen won the NASCAR Grand National race. The track was promoted by Jerry Dinn.
The track was purchased by Johnny Davis in 1960. The track’s first purpose-built race car arrived on race day, a third-place qualifying car for the 1960 USAC Championship Series. John Elliott Jr. drove the car, with Elmo Langley as crew chief.
In the track’s early years, tickets were $1. Ticket prices fluctuated, increasing to $5 in the mid-1960s, and then to $15 by the early 1980s. Attendance was sporadic throughout the track’s history, with the track appearing on several national lists of fastest-shrinking venues. In 1992, when the track was still operational, Forbes magazine listed the track as one of the 100 fastest shrinking venues, estimating that the track had a total attendance of less than 1,000 during 1992.
The track’s final race was a round of the 1992 Cup Series season, when the track was still in operation. The race was won by eventual champion Bill Elliott, driving a Pontiac.
In April 1993, the track’s name was changed to « Davison Hills Speedway », according to a post on The Smoking Gun. The World Of Outlaws was scheduled to be held there a few weeks later, but the Outlaws canceled those races after experiencing problems with the drainage on the track. Davison Hills Speedway also hosted two races in the USAC National Sprint Car championship.
The track closed in 1993, after the race attendance dwindled to only 800 people, with no race attendance higher than 300 people since 1982.
