Getting started:
The Mac installer and help files are located in the \Windows directory, see the ‘Installation’ section of the OSX information page for instructions on downloading and installing the Mac version.
In case you already have Max 5, open it, and from the menu bar, choose Max -> New (or Max -> New Project). In the new project dialog, choose a folder location, and select the Release->Blacklight (Windows) or Release->Fantasy (Linux) configuration. Once done, switch to the Python API, and click Finish, to create a new Max dream project.
The Mac installers are located in the OSX application package « Applications -> MaxDream -> MaxDream.dmg ». For Linux, the installers can be found in the Debian package « maxdream » if you use Debian. For other Linux distributions, consult the provided install instructions.
MaxDream is registered as Open Source software, however, you do not have to sign up for a free account to use the application. The version of MaxDream you download is completely anonymous, only the MAC or LINUX operating system uses your IP address to uniquely identify you.
Now it’s ready to start, but before that, you must download and install some of the dependencies. The libraries needed are listed in the readme.txt file.

If you have a Raspberry Pi, you can create a dedicated MaxDream box on it, using an old computer, and use a Raspberry Pi power supply, just connect the Pi to the computer’s USB, and enable the computers power supply, and you’re done. The maxdream readme.txt file has an example of how to use a Raspberry Pi to run MaxDream. The computer won’t have any monitor, but all you will need to do is to create a virtual monitor (for example vncserver).

Add new module
To add new module to MaxDream, you have to create a new project (C# project).

To save a scene you have to press the ‘Save’ button. This will save all the objects of the current scene in the folder called ‘data/’
