Error with populating options in select2 using typescript

I am making my first select2 and have one issue:
When creating an instance of select2 I am able to set its options normally as follows:
options: [{ « text »: « foo », « value »: « foo » }]

I can also use javascript’s populate method to populate the options field:
[{ « text »: « foo », « value »: « foo » }].populate(options)

But when I try to use typescript I get an error:
Error:(4, 17) TS2339: Property ‘populate’ does not exist on type ‘Node[]’.
Any ideas as to why this might be happening?

« UserInfoTip is a small utility that allows you to show your own descripion of the current dir in the Explorer – the tooltip.
UIT allows you to add your own description of the current directory and of all its subdirs and subfiles in the Explorer. By default, a description is added to the end of the file name. You can also use tags to describe file content (each tag is a textual representation of an integer value like value=1) and use regular expressions to specify a file name.
UIT acts like the shortcut utility of Windows, it creates a shortcut to the current directory and adds a value to its icon (the description, the file tags, the file type).
If you like you can store your own shortcuts, icons and descriptions outside the program directory. UIT finds these shortcuts and creates shortcuts on its own.

UIT is able to add your own description for files and folders. It also allows to mark files and folders.
It also allows to add a description to the root folder and to add tags to file and folder descriptors.

All shortcuts and descriptions are stored in the registry.

The executable is located in the program directory.Usage:

Click « Create Shortcuts… » in the program menu. Click on a folder or a file, and select the first of the two options « Create shortcut » or « Create shortcut to a subfolder ». If you want to create shortcuts for all files in the folder press the second of the two options and select « Create shortcuts to all files ».
The program creates a shortcut with the given properties, its icon is changed depending on the options and the description, tag, regular expression or a short description are added depending on the options.

Press the upper button and select « Create Shortcuts… » in the program menu. Then click on the folder or the file you want to change, then press the first of the two options « Change description » or « Change folder description ».
