This software uses Serial Port Profiles to communicate with the IC Device.
There are six profiles in the standard configuration:

With this program is possible to create an extended serial communication. This new feature provide users with a method to easily send messages to the receiving devices.
Furthermore it is also possible to configure the communication speed up to 115kbps, 250kbps and 500kbps allowing communication of different variables, sensors or even used in robots.
As a full real time application this program can also provide out-of-the-box communication. It’s convenient to connect the devices with both RS232 and RS422 and also the program makes use of the serial port’s own look-up table feature.
Supported serial connectors:
The program use Auto-Discovery to find the port number and connection mode (RS232/RS422) to automatically open the device.
By default the program uses the RS232 connectors.
Also the program allow user to choose a serial port to be used on another computer. This would be ideal when a computer doesn’t have multiple serial ports and only has one port which is not enough to keep everything connected.

The program supports almost all the external devices with serial communication and even the newer devices developed by Dynamixel.

With this simple example we can see that the data was received from the serial port.
With the STManager we can also modify the communication method.
First of all we can use the serial port’s own look-up table.
The serial port itself has a bit that allows to read all the possible values of a standard RS232 without opening the port. For this example we only need to open the port and send three characters to the end of the queue.

In a forum thread we discussed the appearance of « My SIM800Lx » in one of the poll characters.
With the information in that thread, and a new driver with newly-added pseudo-polling, you may be able to send your M300 via text to ST Manager, and have it be displayed as you’d expect.
Aside from the SIM800Lx, which otherwise works with ST Manager, we’ve tried the modem with the new driver and can confirm that it’s working.

We tested the M300, and it works like a charm.
We got to a point where we have it working on all three target devices we have.
As a side note, we didn’t have any need to support the SIM800Lx.
Below is the device profile we ended up with.
OpenSimulator 2.6.x is the latest stable version of OpenSimulator which we use.

We are using a 64-bit Windows version of OpenSimulator.
We have the latest SDK, and the latest version of the Windows driver files for the M300 modem.
We use the USB Connection Manager (UCS).

Please note that STManager is in beta, and we have not yet tested the latest version.

We found the ‘STManager’ driver for the M300 modem from the driver package available from the Qualcomm site, here.

One thing to note, the M300 modem is manufactured by the company Qualcomm, so it is a product of Qualcomm. There have been other versions made by different companies in the past, but the ones that we are using are the ones sold by Qualcomm.
