How to read a 2D array from serial port?

I am writing a program that is supposed to read the output of an analog output sensor from a labtop.
I have successfully written the code to collect and digitize the signal, and put it into a one-dimensional vector.
I have also put a checkbox labeled « Generate a plot », and when I check this box I want the program to read a 2d array (holding the digitized data) from the serial port.
I used this page to help me with the code. I can get a one dimensional array to output, but can’t figure out how to get two arrays, one to input and one to store, to output.
I am new to C++ and this is just a side project, so I apologize for the incredibly simple answer.
