Here are some features of Assjirc:
Text based interface and Client – Assjirc doesn’t use any windows. It takes a minimal amount of resources and uses very little CPU.
AssJive Functions and Commands – Assjirc supports almost every function and command from AssJive. A list of all commands and functions can be found below. The commands are fairly self explaining, but the list may take a moment to come up.
Never worry about losing your settings again! When you first run Assjirc, it reads the values from a config.txt file which is located in the config folder. If you run Assjirc again without removing this file, Assjirc will remember the settings you last used.
You can manually load and save values from this config.txt file. You can also create a config.txt file which will be automatically saved the next time you exit.
Assjirc Features:
Per-conversation Chat Hold – Every AssJiver will have a Chat Hold function. When a specific AssJiver wants to chat to someone other than a person that is currently logged in, they simply type their chat command followed by the AssJiver ID. (ex.!chat [A004] : – will trigger the chat hold function) Once a chat hold is triggered, all chatters that are on will be put into a Chat Hold. All chatters outside the chat hold will continue to move into an Online List and in an away list until the chat hold is dropped.
Per-Conversation Chat « List » – Every AssJiver will have a Chat List that will have all the chatters they are in in chronological order.
Per-Conversation Away List – Every AssJiver will have an Away List that will have all the AssJivers that they are not currently in on the same line.

TAMPA — The University of Tampa has signed a lease with Tampa Bay Devil Rays, the franchise that will continue to play baseball at Tropicana Field after the impending Tampa Bay Rays move to Ybor City.

The agreement announced Monday by UT President Tim Ryan and the Rays is for the 11,290-seat stadium to be the new home of UT’s baseball, soccer and lacrosse teams beginning with the 2015 season.

The lease runs through 2029, the year the Tampa Bay Rays will move into Tropicana Field’s main arena and the current Rays home, which will be known as the Trop.

« This agreement means the future of baseball at the University of Tampa and the City of Tampa will not only continue with the Rays, but with a highly successful history as a Division 1 baseball program, » said Ryan in a statement.

The lease is financially very favorable to UT. While the university will lose the $1.5 million it currently pays annually for rent and utilities in Tropicana Field, it will also gain significant revenue from the Rays.

Installation:

You can download a fresh copy of the source for a new installation, or update your existing installation if the binary is missing a major update.
Assjirc is the only client I’m aware of that requires no installation on the local machine to be used. Just download the source and run it! If your computer can’t run java you will need to install a compiler/JRE or any other Java application. Please be aware that there are many variations of Assjirc available to you. I created one, Assjirc is intended to be the most used version for the sake of the community.
The binaries distributed on the GitHub page are pre-compiled for Windows, however you can compile it yourself and avoid any version issues.
Running Assjirc

Configure a system to run Assjirc (if not already running).
Download the source for the version of Assjirc you want to use.
Create a batch file or terminal session with a ‘run’ parameter with the path to the source.

A little note about Assjirc.jar:

Assjirc.jar is not a standalone client. It is packaged with a text pircBot to handle everything that is not directly related to the protocol. This is similar to how DTM is packaged with IRSSI. However, a new bin is needed for each release as the pircBot often changes.
Assjirc.jar handles almost all IRC network and server modes. The only exception is SASL. Assjirc does not use SASL at all, so you will need to provide the path to a PircBot SASL file to the ‘-enable-sasl’ parameter on the command line. The SASL file needs to be on the path to the jar, or in /etc/sasl/saslrc.
