With the debut of AutoCAD on the Apple Macintosh, it became the first major application to run on the computer platform. The AutoCAD program was upgraded to run on IBM PC-compatible machines. In 1986, Autodesk introduced its first online service, the Electronic Design Interchange (EDI) protocol. Using EDI, users could communicate with other Autodesk customers over a communications network (e.g., the Internet) and collaborate with them on design projects.

On May 10, 2002, Autodesk acquired The Northern Group, developer of the first AutoCAD student edition, and on November 6, 2002, Autodesk launched Autodesk AutoCAD Map 3D for Windows, a software package for importing geographic data into AutoCAD to visualize the locations of buildings, highways and other features of a site.

Transferring a LAMP server to a local dedicated server

I currently run a LAMP server on a dedicated server at my house. I have multiple static IP addresses assigned, and this server is not behind a router/firewall.
What I’d like to do is transfer this to a local server, preferably a dedicated server with static IP addresses as well.
The issue is, I do not know if this is possible. I do have dynamic DNS and domain control, though.
Is it possible to move my current LAMP server over to a dedicated server, while maintaining the same dynamic DNS and domain control?

Short answer: Yes, I’ve done it many times.
If you’re going to be accessing it, as you say, directly from the Internet, then, yes, it should work fine. (Unless you’re relying on it for something that has to be secret.)
To test it, first set up the new host with a static IP address, and make sure it can talk to your dynamic DNS server. Then use the dynamic DNS service to update the IP address of your web server.
(For example, if you use NameCheap, you just go to DNS tab, click Add record, enter the new address, and select the new host as the server name. In the DNS server panel, you should see something like:

Rails rake task to seed DB, but I can’t seed it if I add a new model

I have been experimenting with using the rake task to seed my rails application. I successfully seed the DB by calling rake db:seed from within the rails app, and this works fine.
Now I am trying to add a new model, called « customer_invoice », and when I try and run rake db:seed from within the app it fails, and I’m not entirely sure why.
I have created the following new file, within lib/tasks/customer_invoice.rake

So what I have tried doing is running rake db:seed, but I get the following error:
rake aborted!
Database is locked:
unable to upgrade the « customer_invoice » table to add an auto-index column in schema « customer_invoice_development ».

So this seems to imply that the DB has not been initialized when the rake task runs, and I am not sure why this is. Also, if I run rake db:setup or rake db:migrate rake db:seed runs fine.
Any ideas as to what I am doing wrong?

The answer to this one is that you need to add the following line to your database.yml
development:
adapter: sqlite3
pool: 5

I’m not sure why this is necessary, as it’s working fine when run from within the app, but I guess it’s down to some legacy reason.

There are two new appearance options to control the appearance of lines that are based on a template. The new Appearance Template Options option will control how the line appearance is modified based on the line style of the template. The Appearance For Template Lines option will control how the line appearance is modified based on the appearance settings of the template.

Added Modification Options:

Newly created linetypes and lines will now have new modification options added to the Modify command. You can now choose between applying the last change to a line, applying all of the existing changes to a line, or not changing the line at all. You can also choose to close the line when you apply any existing changes to the line, to reopen the line, or to leave the line open.
