It appears that AVX Component Simulator does not support variable capacitance components. Perhaps it could be fooled by using a DC power supply and a high-pass filter?

Somewhere around here, you will probably find a solution.

This is the current version of the program. Perhaps you can find a way to convert the expected values of input for a variable capacitance, if you can find a way to infer the capacitance from the source resistances from the picture you’ve sent.

I’ve just found out that the (now) version 2.10 Beta of AVX Component Simulator was capable of implementing variable capacitors.
It appears that AVX Component Simulator can operate, however only as a « simulator », which means that it can calculate the values of the « component » but cannot actually drive the components. In order to do that you should use a program like GHDL, specifically the GHDL-VHDL-Tester that comes with the GHDL distribution. You can get a list of supported components (by default in the program folder) in the documentation.

These are great little tools for the hobbyist. I can set the unit to simulate at 20V, 100V, 200V, 500V, 1K, 2K, and 10K, and each unit comes with a standard capacitor, split capacitor, and inductive load.
