## The Layers Panel and the Layers Palette

How to Create a Logo Design using Photoshop Elements?

Step 1: Go to File > Open.

Click on the Open button.

Step 2: In the Open dialog box, locate the folder in which you saved the Logo Design.ai file. Click on the Browse button.

Step 3: Locate the logo design you need to edit and click OK.

Step 4: Open the file using Image > Open As > File type > Vector Graphic.

Step 5: Click on the image.

Step 6: Select the Magic Wand tool and select the logo shape by dragging the mouse in the Selections tool.

Step 7: Press Ctrl+I to invert the selected area. Press Ctrl+E to select the entire logo shape.

Step 8: Press Ctrl+C to copy the logo shape.

Step 9: In the New Document window, click on the New button.

Step 10: Click on the Image icon.

Step 11: In the Place dialog box, navigate to the folder in which you saved the image and select the logo image.

Step 12: In the Name box, type the name of the Logo Design.

Step 13: Click OK.

Step 14: Click on the Edit tab.

Step 15: Locate the Rectangle tool and draw a rectangle that fits the logo shape exactly.

Step 16: Press Ctrl+D to deselect the rectangle.

Step 17: Select all the elements by pressing Shift+Ctrl+A.

Step 18: Press Ctrl+E to ungroup the elements and delete the background.

Step 19: Select the circle, which is the logo logo, by clicking on it and pressing Ctrl+U.

Step 20: Press Ctrl+D to deselect the circle.

Step 21: Click on the Layer tab.

Note that you need to commit your changes before switching back to master.
