The gameplay changes are pretty drastic, and what makes this game a little unique are the three different game modes available. For those of you who played the original, this new game is very polished. The look is the same, but the new gameplay is quite different from what you came to know and love.

  The story features Karsus, one of the playable characters from the original game, as a god that has been trapped in the land between the world of the living and the dead. The story gives hints on how Karsus obtained this power, and also explores the full potential of his power. Each of the nine playable characters, each a soul that was trapped in the lands between, have their own story to tell, which are interwoven through Karsus’ story.

  Overall, the story is, as you would expect for an RPG, pretty standard, but it is unique for having three different game modes to play through, each one differing from the last. The first mode is a parallel story where you travel with Karsus as he works to free the other souls trapped in the lands between. In the second mode, called the Necromancer’s Dungeon, you explore massive dungeon over a course of multiple chapters. The final mode is a traditional RPG quest where Karsus tasks you to free the lands between from the evils of the Necromancers.

  The graphics are very similar to the graphics of the original Elden Ring, so they will not be able to stand up to modern eyes, which is a good thing for this game. The music is great and stays true to the voice actors from the original game. Voice acting is not present, but I would assume the audio is similar to the original. The 3D part of the game also has very bright visuals, which gives the game a very vibrant look. If you played the original, then you will be comfortable with the graphics, so this is not a problem for you.

  The battle system is very familiar to those who played the original Elden Ring, but with the addition of a new character and new characters being unlocked through the game, the battle system has also been altered to fit the needs of all of these different characters.
