The TimeCube is a small rotating cube displaying the current date and time, directly on your desktop. OpenGL is used for quite some special effects: specular highlights, realtime bumpmapping und cube map reflections.

The cube is partially transparent, so you can see the window contents behind it (sometimes you have to look closely though). It can be dragged around on the desktop with the left mouse button.

Installing for Windows
Install the « TimeCube.dll » dll file on your window directory,
Find the folder where you installed the « TimeCube.dll » and go to it’s
root directory.
Open the folder with the lastest TimeCube download
–> timecube.zip
Move the three « TimeCube.dll » files on your window directory and you’re
done
When creating a shortcut, don’t move the icon, but put it into the
icon path
I use « C:\Documents and Settings\Blafler\Desktop\timecube.exe » – parameter to open the editor

Window or View is always on top
The cube looks better with full-size screenshot (use this for viewing on forums/programs/other places)
Set more cube-shadows for the transparent part
Change cube-shadow-color for the transparent part (I used 20% ccc)
Set for more colorful cube (for example: 30% ccc)
Use cube-shadow-distance for the distance of the cube-shadow from the top.

TimeCube is a pretty small rotating cube. If you decide to run TimeCube on your desktop you do so at your own risk.
TimeCube automatically loads as soon as you run it.
TimeCube uses only about 150kb of Ram and creates an icon in the system tray.
There is no timer; the time simply rolls on. You can freely move the cube around on your desktop.
TimeCube is using OpenGL to draw the cube.
Some of the features:
